Wayanad, also known as "The Green Paradise," is a picturesque hill station nestled among the Western Ghats mountain range, forming the border of the greener part of Kerala. Known for its cleanliness and pristine beauty, Wayanad is rich in history and culture. Situated 76 km from Kozhikode's seashore, this verdant region is filled with plantations, forests, and wildlife.
About conference :
DEW, the 54th Kerala state dental conference is all set to be celebrated in Sultan Bathery, Wayanad. An idyllic township that has the distinction of being the cleanest in the land, it has an astonishing historic significance. One can find evidence of the Neolithic civilization, as also markings from Tipu Sulthan's reign and run through Malabar. The name itself is derived from being a 'battery' for the Sulthan's ammunition. When it comes to hosting over 4000 delegates from the state and neighboring states, there couldn't be a better choice.IDA Wayanad, one of the smaller branches of the state, more than compensates for the small number by the large and generous hearts. Hospitality is our forte, commitment is our hallmark. We promise that this conference will be no different, in that we would leave no stone unturned in providing the best academic/fraternizing experience to the delegates.
Pre-conference courses:
We plan for an eclectic range of courses, curated by the best faculty. All sessions will be scheduled to accommodate maximum participants conveniently.
Scientific sessions:
They will continue to provide a forum for sharing and presenting knowledge, staying updated with advancements in various aspects of Dentistry, and reminding that every dentist is a perpetual learner.
Students' corner:
The conference will have something for everyone, including the budding dentists. Programmes specially tailored for undergraduate students and new graduates are planned, as they represent our future.
Trade fair:
As is the norm, a designated space for exhibition, demonstration and sale of staples as well as cutting edge equipment and gadgetry is included in the venue plan. We hope to be the ideal bridge between traders and buyers.
A brief Note on Our Organization
Indian Dental Association (IDA), the one and only platform of Dental Professionals in India has become one among the largest professional organizations in India.
The formal inauguration of the IDA, Kerala State Branch was conducted on, Sunday the 2nd February, 1969. The inaugural ceremony was held at Indira Hall, Lisie Hospital, Ernakulam and the state branch was formally inaugurated by the Hon'ble Minister for Health Sri. B. Willington.

The Kerala State Branch of IDA stands the second highest in the country in case of membership and spreading across the state of Kerala with 38 local branches. All these years, Indian Dental Association has contributed a lot in updating the Profession of Dentistry and also maintained a commitment to the dental as well as the general well being of the people in India. Our professionals and institutions in Kerala maintain a global standard in the field of Dental Education and Treatments, thus witnessing a large number of tourists across the globe visiting this small state of India for Dental Treatments.
Wayanad Branch was formed in 2005 under the leader ship of Dr Elias KP (Founder President) Dr Ranjith CK (Founder Secretary).
Currenlty the organization has over 150 members and lead by Dr. Shani George (President) and Dr. Jijo Joseph (Secretary).
The Venue: Saptha resorts and Spa offers us a microcosm of Wayanad with a lush, spread out setting in the lap of nature.
